Scene #6 – Jesus Walking on Water
“Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’”
Matthew 14:25–27
In the midst of a storm, Jesus reveals His authority over nature and calms the fears of His disciples. This moment reminds us to trust in Him during life’s storms and to place our faith above fear.
Jesus sent His disciples across the lake while He went alone to pray. During the night, strong winds and waves battered their boat. When Jesus approached them by walking on the water, the disciples were terrified, but He reassured them. Peter briefly walked toward Jesus before fear caused him to sink, and Jesus immediately reached out to save him. This miracle reveals Christ’s authority over creation and His presence in every storm. It reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and trust that He is near—even when circumstances feel overwhelming.
