Scene #5 – Jesus Preaching to a Crowd
“Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.”
Matthew 5:1–2
In this powerful moment, Jesus shares the truths of God’s kingdom, calling His followers to humility, mercy, righteousness and love. This scene reminds us that His teachings continue to guide and transform hearts today.
Teaching was central to Jesus’ earthly ministry. He spoke to people in synagogues, homes, villages and open fields, using parables and familiar images to reveal the truths of God’s kingdom. In the Sermon on the Mount, recorded in Matthew 5–7, Jesus taught the Beatitudes, called His followers to be salt and light, and instructed them to love their enemies, pray with sincerity and build their lives upon His words. His message called people beyond outward appearances to an inward transformation of the heart—a life shaped by faith, mercy, obedience and love.
