Scene #2 – Jesus with the Children
Donated by Verena Allen
“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”
Matthew 19:14
In this tender and powerful moment, Jesus welcomes children with compassion and blessing, teaching that faith marked by humility, trust and innocence reflects the heart of God’s kingdom. This scene reminds us that every life is precious and that childlike faith draws us closer to Him.
During Jesus’ ministry, people brought their children to Him so He could place His hands on them and pray for them. When the disciples tried to turn them away, Jesus welcomed the children and blessed them. His response showed that no one is too young or insignificant to receive His love. Jesus used this moment to teach that those who enter God’s kingdom must do so with the humility, dependence and trust of a child. This scene continues to remind us to welcome children, value every life and approach Christ with open and trusting hearts.
