“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6

This sacred moment marks the birth of Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah. Born in humility in Bethlehem, the Son of God entered the world as a child—Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. This moment reminds us of God’s great love for humanity and the fulfillment of His promise to bring salvation and hope to all.

Jesus was miraculously born to the Virgin Mary, who was engaged to Joseph, a carpenter from Nazareth. As recorded in Matthew 1:18–25 and Luke 1:26–38, the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and announced that she would conceive by the Holy Spirit and bear a son, Jesus, who would be called the Son of God. Despite his initial concerns, Joseph embraced his role after an angel assured him in a dream that Mary’s child was divinely conceived. Born in humble surroundings, Jesus was laid in a manger as angels proclaimed the good news of His birth and shepherds came to worship Him. The story of the Holy Family reminds us of the faith, humility and divine purpose surrounding Jesus’ arrival—and of God’s profound love for humanity through the gift of His Son.
